Justice First
The core purpose of Justice First is to work with people seeking asylum whose appeals have been rejected by the Home Office; seeking to help them re-engage with the legal system and avoid destitution by researching and helping to submit further evidence or a fresh claim, either directly or via immigration solicitors.
We offer practical and emotional support; utilise volunteer befrienders and deliver refugee awareness training, presentations and talks. We are a unique service in the North East and work closely with, and refer people to other supportive organisations as appropriate including:
- British Red Cross
- The Mary Thompson Fund
- Open Door
- Migrant Help
- GP Practice, Arrival GP Practice
- Everyday Language Solutions
We fill the gap between statutory support and legal services by achieving fair and just outcomes for those who seek sanctuary. All of our services to beneficiaries are free.
