Shelter is a charity that works to alleviate the distress caused by homelessness and bad housing.
They do this by giving advice, information and advocacy to people in housing need, and by campaigning for lasting political change to end the housing crisis for good.
Shelter can offer specialist advice and deal with a range of issues including:-
- Debt
- Eviction
- Homelessness
- Housing
- Rent and mortgage arrears
- Repossession
- Welfare benefits
Shelter also has an in-house solicitor. Advisers give advice to anyone with issues relating to their finances or difficulties claiming benefits.
