Courses for Children and Young People

Babbling Babies

Babbling Babies is a baby and parent group. Suitable from birth to confident walking.

This drop-in activity is available in all 4 hubs.

Stay & Play

Stay & Play is a family play session for children aged 0-5 with their parent/carer.

This drop-in activity is available at all 4 hubs.

Family Biscuit Ninjas

Put down the phones and consoles and come with your family and have some fun! From dominoes and chess, to Scrabble and Jenga we have them all. Plus free biscuits!

This drop-in activity is available at all 4 hubs.

Relax Kids

Relax Kids are group sessions that supports your children's mental and emotional health and wellbeing with a range of tools and techniques to help calm their body and mind and build confidence and self-esteem. Suitable for ages 3 to 11 years.

Chill Skills

Chill Skills is designed to help young people aged 11+ to feel more confident, improve their learning potential, manage their emotions and be the best they can be. Classes include concentration games, exercises, relaxation techniques and discussions on developing a healthy lifestyle.

Create

Create is a craft group designed for young people aged 11+ who are experiencing low mood or anxiety, to support self esteem, build confidence and awareness of self. The sessions are run over a 5 week period.

Children's Lifesaving Skills

A session which will give children the skills and confidence to act in an emergency (suitable for 8 to 11-year-olds and 12+ years)

 

Courses for new and expectant parents

Baby massage

Discover the benefits of calming and soothing your baby through massage. This is a 1 hour session for babies aged 6 weeks and their parent or carer.

Baby massage is a 4 week course.

Baby yoga

Baby yoga supports long lasting relationships between parent and baby. It is a relaxing way to build a connection together. This is a 1 hour session for babies from 16 weeks and their parent or carer.

Breastfeeding class

Breastfeeding class is a monthly breastfeeding information session delivered by midwives.

Healthy start

Healthy start is a clinic with Health Visitors. It is aimed at providing you with all the professional help you will need for your family including:

  • baby advice
  • health issues
  • baby weighing
  • development issues

Parentcraft

Parentcraft is a 3 week antenatal programme to help prepare for your new baby, from 28 weeks gestation. This course is delivered by midwives and health visitors.

Solihull: Understanding your baby

Solihull: Understanding Your Baby is a 6 week group for new parents to attend with their babies aged 0 to 9 months.

Sessions include activities, videos and discussions about baby development, communication and more.

Being a parent

Being a Parent is an 8 week interactive programme for parents of children aged 2 to11 years old. 

The programme focuses on building positive relationships and provides skills to support in everyday life- delivered by parents.

Henry

Henry is an 8 week programme for parents with children under the age of 5 for healthy families right from the start.

This programme supports you in feeling more confident as a parent, reducing mealtime stress, being more active as a family and encouraging your child away from screens.

Home safety and first aid workshop

Accidental injuries in and around the home are one of the leading causes of serious harm and death in young children in the UK. Find out the most common home accidents for children and what we can do to prevent them, along with basic first aid and resuscitation techniques.

At our family safety sessions, we can provide you with information and advice to help prevent serious accidents happening in the home. We also offer a range of age appropriate, low cost safety equipment along with basic first aid advice for those emergency situations.

Incredible Years

Incredible Years is a 14 week parenting programme to promote positive behaviour, manage children's stressors and deal with difficult behaviours.

Sleep workshop

Sleep Workshop offer advice and support in getting the whole family into healthy sleep habits.

Sessions cover why and how we sleep, bedtime routines and common sleep problems.

Starting solids workshop

Advice and support with weaning your baby. This workshop covers:

  • when your baby is ready to try solid food
  • what food to start with
  • when baby is hungry
  • when they've had enough
  • how to make mealtimes an enjoyable experience

Talking teens

A 5 week programme to help you, as parent, understand your teenager's brain. It will keep you talking with your teen and avoid conflict.

Virtual classes are also available.

Toilet training workshop

The ERIC Toilet Training workshop offers support in successfully toilet training your child.

Includes information for children with Autism and or any additional needs.

Tots talking

Tots Talking is an 8 week programme for parents of toddlers concerned about language delays.

Each week starts with a welcome chat followed by a video or an activity to discuss. During sessions parents can make something fun to take home and play with their child.

Understanding behaviour

A 3 week programme which includes one week of telephone support.

Support with looking at how behaviours are linked to our emotions and discuss strategies that have been tried. Focusing on the changes we want to see within the family and what we can do to make it happen.

All Together For You are drop-in sessions which give an opportunity to speak to agencies such as Alliance, Youth employment, Citizen's Advice, Welfare & Benefits, Tees Credit Union, Daisy Chain, School Support, CGL, Stockton Learning & Skills and Family Action.

Change Grow Live

Change Grow Live (CGL) offers a safe and confidential space for anyone struggling with drug and/or alcohol issues to have a discussion - providing education, information and brief interventions.

Citizen's Advice Bureau

Stockton and District Advice and Information Service provides free, confidential, independent and impartial advice on a range of services.

Let's Talk is a weekly drop-in for parents that want to chat to staff and peers about the stresses that they may come across at home, an opportunity to ask questions and share ideas.
