Greenlinks Outdoor Programme - Thornaby

Groundwork NE & Cumbria are currently delivering a programme to address social isolation and loneliness amongst people presenting memory problems (undiagnosed and diagnosed dementia) and their carers in Stockton on Tees. Activities are based around horticulture, green exercise and other activities, encouraging people to connect with nature.

Greenlinks Outdoor Programme - Thornaby

Sessions usually take place on the Sunflower allotment at Thornaby on a Thursday between 10am and 12pm. However we sometimes deliver from other locations so please get in touch prior to popping along. The sessions provide clients with a place where befriending is encouraged and they can grow and learn with each other.

The Greenlinks project also helps to reduce the strain on carers by providing either the opportunity to meet other carers whilst working on the allotment or using the time elsewhere whilst the person they care for is working on the allotment. It is important that we support carers to maintain and increase their social health to be able to cope with the changes they will be going through in their life as well.

Please get in touch so we can discuss individual needs.
