The Kings Academy
The King's opened as an 11-18 school of 1,200 students in September 2003. During the last twelve years, we have enjoyed a tremendous rise in our GCSE exam results from 34% 5+ A* - C in 2004 to 87% in 2014. Improvements in Sixth Form results have been equally impressive, with 66% of all A Level grades being A*, A or B. <SEND>

Ofsted has graded The King's as "Good" in the last three inspections of 2005, 2009 and 2013. The Department of Education has identified The King's as one of the top 100 most improved schools in the country and the most improved school in the North East region.
