Often survivors of domestic abuse are fearful to leave due to the financial implications. Survivors can be worried about where they will live and if financially dependent on their partner or family member, how they will afford to live.

The DWP's provision includes considerations, often with qualifying criteria applied, which can be applied for :

• Housing Benefit
• Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA) and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
• Universal Credit
• Benefit cap
• Removal of the spare room subsidy
• Discretionary Housing Payments
• Migrant partner support
